T61 WiFi activity light not lit

Hey guys,

Replaced my wireless card, had the 4965AGN which bluescreens under W8.1.
So I bought the Atheros 5008X card. Works nicely and after a days usage no issues so far :)

Sadly the 4965AGN trained my eyes to monitor the little green activity light under the LCD.
After replacing the card the light is no longer lit, it's not lit at any stage during boot either.
I have the Middleton BIOS, flashed pre and post installation of the Atheros card, just to be sure. I have the latest Power Management drivers. Played around with the physical on-off swith, but nothing seems to bring the light to life.
The Atheros driver version I have is 10.0.0.274 which should be the latest.

This is a problem I can live with, but any ideas?

Thank you for any advice.

If it's not an official Lenovo/IBM card, the wifi light does not work 99 out of a 100 times.
No solution.

Hi,
I would like to ask you if your Bluetooth works under win8.1. Mine does not work. What driver are you using?

No solution.
You can try to boot some recent Linux distribution like ubuntu and check if wifi led will work there.

Yep, BT works well for me with Windows 8.1. I'm using a mini keyboard, I have a Samsung soundbar, mobiles etc. connected via BT. No issues.
I believe this is the BT controller itself Broadcom, driver date 18.10.2013, driver version 12.0.0.8047.
I'm pretty sure that's the driver Windows put on, I don't recall having updated it.

Hope this helps.
