Installing Ultrabay device

#1 Post by taichi » Mon Jun 16, 2014 7:46 pm

Is there a video or animation that shows the swapping/replacement of an Ulltrabay device on a T60P?

Are you attempting sarcasm?

I recall there being some Thinkpad animations, but if that's not your style...

The lighting is so bad on the video I can't tell what they are doing. 8)

@ taichi: If you need to know how to swap/replace an Ulltrabay-device (on a T60p or whatever ThinkPad), and you being an old-timer (w/400+ posts) here on the forum: Did you actually bother to look in the Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad T60/p (4:3 format LCD types) before asking? Otherwise/alternatively see Lenovo's Hardware Removal & Installation Movie Index - Notebooks.

Also, see Ray's post here; try follow the second link... and remember: Google is your friend!

Hey, while you're at it - could you find me some videos of how to remove the battery, and also some videos of how to open and close the lid?

Hey, thanks for the good spiritedness of all you gents' replies. I guess high school never ends.

The reason I asked was because:

1. I've never touched an Ultrabay device before.
2. The first thing I happened to read about Ultrabay had to do with the hybrid or semi hybrid nature of the Ultrabay/Device in the T60 and prior models.

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_ho ... ay_devices

This made it seem a bit more complicated than just swapping the device with the two little levers, which I had already found in my PDF manual before posting. I figured I'd ask my confreres on this great forum before making a mistake. I figured wrong.

The first poster who linked to that Laptop Repair Archive on YouTube actually did something useful. Thanks for that.
