WinXP does not find T60 HDD

I'm trying to Install WinXP on another SATA HDD but the installation s/w says it can't find any Hard Disk to install to. The BIOS s/w can find the drive, and Windows 7 installer can find it, but for some reason WinXP installer is 'Blind'. Has anybody else had this problem, or am I the only one?
Does anybody have a solution for my problem?

Set SATA in BIOS to "Compatibility".
Disable the Security Chip in BIOS.

This is because a generic XP install disc doesn't include any SATA drivers.
Another way to get around this is building your own XP install disc with drivers slipstreamed into it.

It's probably better to install in Compatibility, then add the SATA driver post-install. Less hassle, and guarantees an install that will boot fine both in SATA and IDE modes.
