Hi, I got this T61 Widescreen a couple years ago, and since then, It become my main Laptop, sadly, it was the cheapest T61 that i found back then, and it was already damaged, the screen was loose, their bezel was cracked, and it didn't have their HDD Cover.

First Problem, there is no HDD Cover, and the Optical Unit is cracked (Not a big deal)

First MAIN problem, the hinge is broken

Someone glued something on it

I Was thinking about get a non working T61 and mix the parts, this would be viable economically speaking, or it will be better just get a new T61? (Sorry for my bad English, I'm not a native English speaker)

I almost forget it, i will go to Taiwan in a couple months, it will be cheaper to get the parts in Taiwan, or they will cost the same as in Mexico?

I can't comment about price differences between those countries, but things like HDD cover, LCD bezel, rear cover, keyboard and Hinges are quite cheap in Ebay and alikes. You could get parts from US sellers ein Ebay or directly from this same forum marketplace (the best option if you ask me)

I have all the parts you need to fix this, some of them are very inexpensive. If you'd like to send me a list of the parts you need I can give you an estimate and shipping cost. I'll need the 7 digit model number of your T61.

Thanks TuuS, but sadly, my T61 will need to wait (Maybe 1 year ) , I'm out of money for now, and I will be out of my country the next year, so...
