This flea market T61p 6459-CTO, Quadro 570M, short $, provides much delight:
Label on bottom: "Made in China {some Chinese characters} Factory ID: H"
What factory is this?
How can I detect if the planar has been replaced without opening up the machine?

You really can't.
What you could do is run the serial number against the Parts Lookup here:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product ... ookup.page
and then compare the planar FRU with what the sticker under the RAM slots (you'll have to remove the palmrest) states.
What's the date code on that T61p?

Parts lookup does not reply to this serial number.
The date code is "07/10." I don't want to say how long it took me to realize that it means October 2007, not July 2010.
No FRU label for planar in its spot under the DRAM boards.
I removed the keyboard and looked around at a few chips. I couldn't find any suggestion that the chips are dated newer than 2007.
So, I guess it's all original. From the looks of the insides, it must have spent most of its life in a drawer.
I will continue to enjoy it while it lasts.

The mobo P/N should be visible on a small white label when you remove the battery.

This label says "FRU 42W67653." Googling this fails. On pg 140 of T6x HMM there is listed "42W7653" which seems to be the original FX570M motherboard. So that's what I have.
Thx

If your label says indeed: 42W67653, then it's most likely a Chinese knock-off motherboard.
Lenovo does not make any print-errors like that!
