T61p mouse failures
T61p mouse failures
My mouse fails on all the USB ports, I have narrowed the problem to the ports, do I have to change the system board or is there a "mouse controller" that is separate from the system board?

Re: T61p mouse failures
Will the USB ports on the T61p work with any other device? If yes then replace the mouse. Otherwise replacing the MB would be easiest. I guess technically you can always remove and solder on replacement USB ports. If you don't do a lot of portable computing it might be cheaper to pick up a docking station and us the USB ports on the docking station.

More cheaper way:
find PCMCIa (or ExpressCard) to USB controller and use it.
