T60 BIOS update kicking my Butt

#1 Post by jronald » Sun Aug 10, 2014 6:26 pm

I have attempted to flash the BIOS on the T60 Im typing on now at least 2 dozen times. Im working with 3 images, all slightly different. Have tried Winphlash and Pure Dos.

Win will not confirm the image
DOS will not confirm its the correct BIOS for the machine
Tried Uniflash, and still had no luck.

Any suggestions?
Ron

Lenovo BIOS or a modded one?

Have you tried updating it from a diskette?

Diskette in the USB memory stick sort of way

Every time I ran into this problem I solved the same way I solved bios flashing on thinkpads without batteries.

If you download an update there will be a Lenovo exe, winphlash exe and another 3rd exe. The 3rd is the one you want to use. It should ask for a bios file location and begin flashing.

It's possible this only applies to the modded bioses I downloaded.

Ended up using a CD-ROM, it protested but did as I asked. Thanks goes to a soft spoken one here on the forum.
