Uunderboi's T60

#1 Post by jronald » Fri Dec 26, 2014 2:44 pm

Picked up a working pull V5200 Mobo from a forum member. Installed it and attempted to fire it up.
No beeps, all LED light up momentarily then nothing.
Pulled everything that I could, memory, modem, wifi.
If I pull the CMOS battery I get the LEDs, nothing else.
Does not light the battery charge light.

Suggestions?

Try disconnecting the screen and see what happens.

Check the fuse immediately right of the LCD connector on the mobo.
If that's gone, you have no backlight.
Does an external monitor work?

Does not get to the LCD.
Never POST's
LEDs are on just longer than a flicker, it shuts down.
Have to pull all power including the CMOS to get it to do the same again.

When the LEDs all flash on at first power up, does the power LED stay on afterwards?
A) If the power LED remains on, that means there's a problem affecting with the CPU, FSB or GPU allowing the board not to POST.
B) If the power LED does not remain on, that means it could be an issue with the VRM, power adapter or something preventing it from fully powering on.
