Hello i would like to ask You guys what is the correct size for thermal pad in this notebook? i ask for thickness on gpu?
My t60p overheats momentally when watching hq video on youtube/play any game etc.
it gets about 100C in 5 mins..
IDLE for CPU is about 48-50C - new thermal paste copped based
for GPU about 77-80C
I need to change these thermal pads but have no clue which to buy because the original ones are crushed

Hello dovazin,

it is great to see another person from Poland in thinkpads.com community. First, I suggest read the guide http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=114717 containing previous experience of members of this forum. Secondly you may try to remove thermal pads compleatly and use a proper thermal paste instead. I've made that on two 15" T60 4:3 and one 15,4" T60p and achieved respectively ~~68 and 60 Celcius degrees during medium load. CPU temerature seems to be pretty normal to me for that piece of hardware especially if your GPU runs so hot. Please let us know is this is an 4:3 or 16:10 T60p - i have found widescreen configs running alot cooler than their older brothers, best regards, Pokrzept.

its 14' 4:3 I'm thinking about replacement for t61 or t/w 500 heatsink&fan but before i do i would like to try my best to avoid it.
for example i just run a simple video for 5 mins and gpu gets up to 90C while cpu is staying arround 50C
data is from tpfc.62 my system is win7 64bit.

i tried to run gpu stress test and results are terrible - it takes about 5-10 seconds to get from normal 80C up to 115C before system will shut itself down on ~120C
