T61 14" Intel Turbo memory mini card slot

First post here so may I say 'Hello to you all'

I've had my T61 for a while now and have played about with a few upgrades, T9300 CPU, 4gb RAM, Middleton BIOS, 42T0867 NetCard, 60gb SSD, 600gb UltraBay and RightMark undervolting, did I miss anything? :)

Now I've turned my attention to that empty PCIe mini slot where a WAN card could reside. I understand from other posters that the Intel Turbo jobby is a waste of time but I'm wondering if a PCIe mini SSD card could go there and work as an extra drive for swap/temp file etc. I've seen this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-8-GB-Int ... 1c4e2679ec and wondered if this would work. Thank you for any input on this matter.

Kind Regards...

That's a PATA/IDE SSD used in their older netbooks (Mini 9 and 10). It won't work, as it's not a real mini PCIe card.
It's just a card that uses the same slot connector as mini PCIe, but has IDE signals instead of PCIe.
It's similar to the ones used by ASUS in the EEE PC 701/901 netbooks.

ok thanks for that axur.

After a bit more digging, I've come to realise that it can't be done anyway, even if it was the right kind of device. It was just a thought :)

If you use a wireless mouse, you can attach the dongle internally with that same USB card.
