Dim screen from Inverter?

I have a T61 that originally came with an XGA screen. About 6 months ago I swapped it for a NOS SXGA+ Samsung LCD, but the maximum brightness was noticeably dimmer than on the XGA screen. I swapped the screens back, and the XGA screen was still brighter. The brightness was OK back then, but now the screen seems even dimmer than before (but still viewable in normal lighting conditions).

Would a SXGA+/UXGA or WUXGA inverter from a T60 or T61 solve the issue? It seems like the SXGA+ panels need more power than the XGA inverter can supply?

Thanks,
Brian

Correct, SXGA+/UXGA use a different inverter than XGA on T6x.

Thanks. So an inverter from a WUXGA T61 will work fine?
