T60: Some status indicators not working
T60: Some status indicators not working
The problem I'm having with my T60 is quite similar to that of monacotaxi's in here.
The power and AC power indicators stopped working a few days ago, although the AC power will still be on when the lid is closed. Now, the CapsLock indicator also doesn't work.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Could be the inverter, or else a fuse near the LCD-connector on the motherboard.

Could also be the fault of LEDs, but unlikely. To confirm that just measure the voltage at specific LED when it should be on - if there is none or it is too low, that is fault elsewhere.

Re: T60: Some status indicators not working
I've had the same symptom once each on two different T60s. In both cases, the MB-to-display cable developed one or more open circuits. At some point, repeated cable flexing due to opening and closing the lid will inevitably cause failure.

I have the same symptom on an X61. Replacing the inverter did not fix it. Inspection of the fuses revealed nothing. So I'd try a cable.

Hello,
Now only the WiFi led is working. Is it most possible that the inverter has gone bust? If so, how can I fix it? Would it be difficult?
Any help would be appreciated.
