Hi,
Beside the BSEL[1] wire mod... do I need a different bios than the Middleton one?
That's what I'm using on the T61p (Middleton) with the stock T7700 processor...
P9700 requires 1066 FSB.
Thanks!

Yes you do.... The BIOS which you can use is in the other thread,
http://thinkpad-forum.de/threads/172581.
I'd recommend 专门网论坛_T61-BIOS(1.05).rar

Thank you
Any idea why you don't recommend ASPM enabled bios instead?
Any issues?

For the ram... I currently have 2x2GB of samsung PC2-6400S-66-12-E3 (800mhz)
I also have some spare PC2-5300S (533mhz) sticks...
How I can verify if they can run to 1066 mhz?
Sorry for such basic question but the tested memory listing is short in the 1066FSB thread.

They do not need to be capable of running 1066Mhz.
You can reach 888Mhz @ CL5 when overclocked. The majority of DDR2 DIMMs cannot handle this. that's why a SPD modification is needed. You can test this after the P9700 mod
