Mouse/Trackpad not detected

#1 Post by Kelvini » Sun Aug 16, 2015 1:21 pm

Hello, I recently bought a Thinkpad T60, it works very well except for the trackpad. I've tried it with both Windows and Ubuntu and neither work. Windows and Ubuntu don't seem to detect it at all, not in the device manager/ mouse settings. I also looked and there's no bios settings for the trackpad in the mouse/ pointer part of the bios.

Anyway, I opened the notebook to see if the unit was plugged it or shown any signs of damage. It seems fine and I cleaned and reconnected the connector on both sides. Was there a version of the T60 without a trackpad? I'm wondering if the BIOS was flashed with the wrong BIOS which lacked the trackpad functionality. The seller apparently had some issues right before selling it to me but "fixed" them.

Thanks :)
