T60 issue with palmrest *PICS*

Hello all,

This afternoon I cleaned my friend's IBM T60. After putting everything back, I am having a problem with the palmrest. For whatever reason it will NOT snap into place. The right side of the laptop is fine, but the left side around the wireless adapter toggle and the IR/sensor, it won't fit on correctly. Anyone have similar issues and know how to fix this? I've tried almost everything (re-taking everything apart and putting it back together) to no avail. It's pretty frustrating as normally the palm rest is the easiest step of the cleaning process.

Check the position of the wifi-switch on mobo and switch, they must match!

The notches on the bottom of the palmrest should be inserted into the notches on the base first, then the upper portion will be pressed on top. Also check the left notches on the palmrest. Make sure that none are bent inwards and are preventing you from fully locking the palmrest in place.

This is exactly what the problem was. I can't believe how bent downwards those notches were. It was preventing the computer notches from inserting into the palm rest. I used a screwdriver and pushed them upwards and they fit fine. Obviously doesn't look great under the palm rest, but solves the problem.
