Boot from SSD in cd rom drive slot?

I have 2 T60s.

One's my main high performance machine, the other is a background downloading machine.

In the interests of getting rid of the xga one, but keeping it's functionality (it gets all the dodgy youtube download programs installed on it), is it possible to take the xga drive, install it into the sxga t60, and take the t60 drive and put it into a tray to put into the cdrom slot and choose which hard drive to boot up on startup?

Yes, you can do that, but it's possible that the drive letters might change/get messed up afterwards.

Instead of keeping dodgy youtube downloaders (are adware or have trojans embedded), you can use open-source alternatives like youtube-dl or its GUI version.

Ack, sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Probably just better to keep the two laptops.

The xga laptop isn't worth much anyways...
