BIOS password unlock?!

I recently bought a replacement system board for my t61 4:3 (42w7648). Problem is, the seller didn't mention that it had a startup/BIOS/power-on password!! (Hope I'm using those terms correctly) So what I see when I boot up is a padlock symbol; you have up to 3 guesses for the password, then it just hangs if they're all incorrect. I've found lots of sites with tips on how to remove this type of passwd, bu t unfortunately none of them work!!!! Including removal of the BIOS battery from the board for x seconds while holding down the power button, and waiting for the "system failure" notice and number -- but neither of these work (I actualy don't even see any sort of failure notice.......machine just freezes!!)
Any ideas/comments/suggestions???? Really need to resolve this asap!!!!!!!!!!!

Get your money back and return the item. This is the simplest and best approach.

Sorry, but Bios password unlocking is not allowed to be discussed here.

Welcome to the forum.
For password removal, see this: https://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht036206
If the password is still there after you have tried the [Lenovo] above, then you have a Supervisor Password.
