"Fan error" with T500 cooler, but not with old T60p cooler

Hey guys,

Today I tried to exchange my old T60p cooler. Unfortunately the new T500 model would give me a fan error experience. It started spinning, sounding pretty ok, then stopped spinning, then gave me the error. I tried it twice, pulled the cable and reconnected, nothing worked. The old T60p cooler instead just works fine.

The T500 cooler should be out of the box, so I am wondering if there could be any other reason than the fan being broken.

Not that I can think of.

Time for returning the aforementioned heatsink for refund/exchange.
