Hi,
I have two questions about using Ultrabay battery on T61P:
- when main runs out, computer turns off(no hibernation, no instant switching). Does it have to be this way?
- can I set order of charging and discharging batteries?
Win 10
Regards,
J.

Here's what I remember about using an Ultrabay battery on my T61p on XP and 7 before it (the battery) died...
It would run off the ultrabay battery first if it had any charge available. Once that battery ran out it switched (seamlessly) to the primary battery. I never found a way to force it to do the opposite, although if I hit the ultrabay release lock and the pull tab ejected, it would switch to primary battery despite the UBB being seen in Power Manager. I can't remember for certain if you removed the primary battery if it would run off the still inserted Ultrabay battery, but I seem to recall it would.
Your first question about the system turning off abruptly when the primary battery is depleted tells me the battery is running out before it reports a 0% charge to the OS. You may want to investigate performing a battery gauge reset in Power Manager, or increasing the low battery charge threshold/action in Windows.

In Linux, it is possible to force the main battery to discharge first.
