Upgraded 15" LCD panel for T60

#1 Post by wsalomon » Sat Nov 28, 2015 11:52 pm

I have a T60 with the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950.

It currently has the 15" XGA LCD panel.

I know that SXGA+ and UXGA panels that were used on T60s.

I also know other graphics processors included:
ATI Mobility Radeon X1300
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
ATI FireGL V5200
ATI M62-64

My question is, if one wants to upgrade to either the SXGA+ or the UXGA, are the Intel graphics sufficient, or would it need one of the ATI graphics.

The intent here is upgrading for better graphics resolution, and *not* for graphics speed.

On the other hand, if one of the ATI's is needed, I've seen some extremely reasonable mobo's, and realize that the inverter may have to be replaced.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Intel integrated graphics will work just fine with either of these screens. Been there and done that many a times.

Happy upgrading.
