T61's with 1280x1024 (SXGA = 5:4!!) LCD's??

I recently came across a couple of T61's with model-/typenumber = 7661-W8T and I'm highly surprised because these are listed as having LCD's being 14.1" 1280x1024 which I've never heard of before in T61's? If looking up the specifications for these T61's (via either http://sm.krelay.de/tp/index.php or http://thinkpadder-id.com/mtm/) both will report:
T7300 (2GHz), 1GB RAM, 80GB 5400 rpm HD, 14.1" 1280x1024 LCD, Intel X3100, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Business 32
If downloading the entire ThinkPad MTM (as of Oct. 2014) and going down to line 339092 and onwards, we will find the same LCD specifications for several other T61's of the "family" (7661-W8x), these also having 1280x1024 LCD's. According to WikiPedia 1280x1024 = SXGA (note: Not SXGA+) and this corresponds to format 5:4, which is neither 4:3 nor widescreen?!? :?

According to the Product Specifications Reference Lenovo ThinkPad Notebooks, 2005 to 2013 - withdrawn, December 2013 - Version 447 the few T61's of the 7661-model mentioned there (see e.g. page 252/709) were either 14.1" (358.1mm) WXGA (1280x800) or (page 262/709) 14.1" (358.1mm) WXGA+ (1440x900), i.e. both 16:10 widescreen models, while the standard format 4:3 LCD's were either XGA (1024x768) or SXGA+ (1400x1050), but both of these also having the 14.1" (358.1mm) LCD size (meaning that the diagonal of the 16:10 and the 4:3 LCD in 14.1" T61's are identical).

What's more strange, Lenovo does not seem to list any 1280x1024 LCD's for T61's, neither in their 14.1 inch XGA (1024x768) LCD service parts - ThinkPad T61 and T61p (14.1-inch) nor in their Common service parts - ThinkPad R61, R61i, and T61 (14.1-inch widescreen).

What I'm actually trying to find out is whether the motherboard(s) in these 7661-W8T T61's with 1280x1024 LCD's are usable in 4:3 15" T60-based FrankenPad's...?

Are anyone able to shed light on this very spooky matter?? If so, thanks a lot in advance!

I have noticed few typos in the mtm list, many laptops that have 1920x1080 LCD are listed as 1900x1080

ThinkPad Edge E530 (3259-C71) i7-3612QM(2.1Ghz), 8GB RAM, 750GB 5400rpm HD, 15.6in 1900x1080 LCD, Intel HD Graphics, ...

ThinkPad Edge E535 (3260-1B9) A6-4400M(3.2Ghz), 4GB RAM, 500GB 5400rpm HD, 15.6in 1900x1080 LCD, Intel HD Graphics, ...

ThinkPad T430 (2350-A54) i7-3820QM(3.7GHz), 8GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm HD, 15.6in 1900x1080 LCD, 2GB NVIDIA Quadro K1000M, DVD Recordable, Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN upgradable, Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, Fingerprint reader, Camera, 9c Li-Ion, Dos license

This last one is a large typing mistake, (AFAIK) there is no T430 with nvidia-quadro or even a quad core or a FHD.

... well thanks for your feedback, hhhd1, but it really doesn't answer my question... :(

According to the first post in the thread T61: On displays, durability, and discussion T61's were actually available via Lenovo's "Outlet" at some point, having LCD's of the 1280x1024 type so this seems to indicate that they did actually exist! Could it perhaps be some limited-edition CTO'ed T61's?

Anyone else perhaps knowing anything about this MEGA-mystery??

This "mega-mystery" is a "grand-typo". Nothing more.

To add, T61 models already have SXGA+ displays and WUXGA displays. SXGA (1280x1024) simply wouldn't make sense in these models (WUXGA > SXGA+ > SXGA), especially since you would need a different lid + lcd bezel.

OK, so to clear up this mystery (and doing this with zero beliefs or assumptions or unjustified postulates), I just received a very helpful reply from jaspen-meyer in the thread Why does Lenovo's "Parts Lookup" site not (always) work?? (see this post); jaspen-meyer informed that the site https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup is still usable as a ThinkPad Parts-Lookup and is even supporting such old ThinkPad's as T61's... I for one didn't know that, so that's the first interesting news here.

So, by entering the MTN of the "mysterious" T61, 7661W8T, in the “By Machine Type-Model” field, we get information about the part-numbers that were used to build that T61, which includes a “42W7866 Int 965GM MS” (that’s the motherboard which a 14.1" widescreen model, i.e. for format 16:10 displays; a motherboard having the Intel GM965 chipset).

The display is the “45N4975 14.1 WXGA LCD PANELS” which is obviously a 14.1” 1280X800 widescreen display. The information provided by Lenovo through a MTN-lookup, as discussed above, is obviosuly incorrect: That the LCD of this T61 should have been 1280x1024 is an error; it should have been “1280x800” in Lenovo’s database. Interesting however that one nowhere at Lenovo's site can find anything about the 45N4975 panel?

Mystery solved! 8)

I've had one of those models and it was a 1280x800 WXGA. There were only two options in that model, 1280x800 and 1440x900 WXGA+. It's also interesting to see the Z61t had the same options, but also had a WXGA with 1280x768 that used a different lid and bezel and couldn't be upgraded. It's also difficult to find a replacement screen for those models, but a lid swap will do the trick.

From old age i have used some SXGA desktop LCD displays 17", 19" but i have never seen 14" SXGA ones...
(and these days i liked that aspect ratio and resolution ;)

And some more spice to the mystery;)
After reading this topic i have asked panelook about 14" 1280x1024 and it find only one LCD. LTN141E1 (14.1"). Yes panelook have some typos (ex it think that LTD121EQ3B is WXGA 1280x800, but it is really WXGA+ from X20xs). I haven't find any specifications for that LCD in the net and no sources on ebay or aliexpress. Even no pictures of that LCD. Mysterious ;)

BTW
Another mysterious LCD in this thread ;)
