Today I am a T61 Owner.

Started a new job this week, while cleaning out my work area, (almost an office) I found two T61's (14.1" wide screen 7665-CTO T7100 2gb)Both are dated 08/09 so I should be free of the Invidia bug. Also found a dead 15.4" T61p. (6459-CTO 07/12) Bought all three from the company just to tinker with.

Tossed the 128GB SSD left over from my #2 T520 upgrade in the first T61 and it's up and running.

Question, machines this late in production should support the Penryn processors correct? I'd like to upgrade both to T9300's

Yep, both support Penryn CPUs. Even if it was an older motherboard, Middleton's BIOS gets rid of the thermal sensing error - and at that, it's a good idea for any aged T61 system due to the removed BIOS wireless whitelist, SATA-II support and SLIC2.1.

Good job on the T61 (post-Nvidia bug). I've been searching for ages for one and have been unsuccessful.

do any of them have the SIM card slot under battery? T61 started offering it but only my W500 has it. My T61 has space for it but not installed.
