Will a 4:3 T61 w/integrated GPU (42W7872 mobo) directly drive a 16:10 T61/p LCD?

I have a 4:3 format LCD T61-based FrankenPad with the 42W7872 motherboard (having the integrated Intel X3100 GPU). It is working fine.
Also, I have another T61; a 6460-DAG with a 15.4" 1680x1050 LCD (WSXGA+ = 16:10) and a dead 128MB nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M GPU. Finally, I have a T61p; a 6460-EEG with a 15.4" 1920x1200 LCD (WUGXA = 16:10) and a dead 256MB nVIDIA Quadro FX 570M GPU; detalied specs for both of these at the bottom of this post.
If possible - and without damaging anything; that's actually the key issue here! - I would like to use the 4:3 X3100-T61 to test the both of the 15.4" (16:10) T61/p LCD's, but I don't know if this is completely safe and risk-free? I would obviously hate to destroy my 42W7872-Frankenpad by connecting a "catastrophic incompatible" 16:10 LCD that will cause permanent damage to the 4:3 T61! I have checked that the LCD cables of the WSXGA+ and of the WUXGA widescreen-T61 panels will connect to the 42W7872 LCD-connector; they will.
So, my question is this: Can the WSXGA+ and the WUXGA widescreen-T61 LCD panels be safely connected directly to the 42W7872 LCD-connector without any difficulties... or is this perhaps the safe way to destroying the 42W7872?? According to this post it should be possible for an "Intel-based T61" (but a 4:3 or a 16:10 T61??) to drive 16:10 T61 LCD's, but nonetheless I would very much like to know if I have perhaps misunderstood anything?
Note: The 4:3 T61 has the LCD cably assy = 93P4511 (according to the HMM), while both the WSXGA+ and the WUXGA panel has the LCD cable assy = 93P4513 (according to the HMM).
