What are preferred vs avoid T61 battery FRUs?

I know that Panasonic batteries are the better choice and I know one of mine is that with an FRU of 92P1133. Are there others?

Which ones should I avoid Sony and sanyo, but any specific FRUs?

I'm interested in two 15" ws (includes 14" 4:3) and one 14" ws model, I don't care if they are 6 or 9 cell.

I now have more dead T61 batteries than live ones.

Are the makers listed in the HMM by FRU??

No.

Stick with 92P1133, that's what all of my working ones are.

No wisdom to offer on the FRUs for WS T61 14".

I dug out the HMMs and they do mention a few FRUs, but only a couple.

This is what I found, in case others are interested:

Sanyo: FRU 42T4505 I have a dead 42T4505 that has Assy PN 92P1138 so the two must go together
Sony: FRU 92P1141

9 cell:
Panasonic: 90P1133
Sanyo: 42T4511 There is one on ebay with the FRU that has Assy PN 92P1132 40Y6799 which is floating around.

9 cell:

Panasonic: 42T5225

I will put all the ones I have good and dead here to see if there are more FRUs and or matching assy PNs.

This is a royal PITA. The Lenovo site lists 6 newer PNs that supersede the older FRUs that we know.
41U3196; 4 Cell ("33") for 14WS
41U3197; 7 cell for 14WS
41U3198; 6 cell (33+) for 14WS
43R2499; 9 cell (33+) for 14WS

40Y6799; 6 cell (41+) for 15WS and 14S
40Y6797; 6 cell (41++) for 15WS and 14S

None of these are the old FRUs that I see referenced in the HMM.

I'm going to make a spreadsheet of all my batteries and try to narrow things down that way.

I do have a TEN YEAR old IBM marked sony 6 cell that is still working properly in the 8897.....

I tend to prefer the 6-cell and 9-cell Panasonics (keep in mind R/T/W500 batteries also work on 15.4" T61, 14.1" Standard T60/T61 and 15" Standard T60s, and I think 15.4" Z60/Z61 as well?); had a Sony battery which reached around 42C while charging but I don't know if it was defective or not (removed the battery to prevent smoke/explosion hazard, and no it was not one of the recall ones)

Anyone know what should be a safe temperature while charging the batteries?

Thanks. That is a hard to find FRU.

What makes it worse is most vendors are listing a dozen or more "compatible" FRUs with some not even the same size (14W or 6 s 9 cell)!?! It's impossible to tell what they are actually selling...

I found a couple 92P1133 which i Know are Panasonic cells, but they might be older- and they are used (but cheap). I have dead sony and sanyo batteries, both 6 and 9 cell with as few as 18 and 28 cycles!!! My good Panasonic one has some 400 cycle counts on it.

I did make a chart from the HMMs (it lists several FRUs), the current Lenovo battery page (don't know if they are FRUs or ASSY PNs), the one RBS likes (no ASSY PN) and the dozen I have here. I was able to get complete info even on the dead ones from Power Manager!. But it doesn't help if vendors are not listing the Exact Assy PN and FRU PN in what they are selling...

Panasonic 9-cell: FRU=92P1133, ASM=92P1134 (cells made in China, assembled in China)
Panasonic 9-cell: FRU=42T4620, ASM=92P1134 (cells made in Japan, assembled in China), THE best!!!!
They DO have the same ASM-number.

I must have gotten lucky with this 92P1133 FRU, Made in June 2008, cycle count 454 and still working.

That FRU 42T4620 is still hard to find. I found and bought on on fleabay. If it's in good shape fine, if not it will get returned. Amazon is almost useless for this, so I'm still drilling through fleabay.

Is the FRU (or Assy) 40Y6797 any good? That's the current PN on Lenovo's site.

Are you anywhere near Phoenixville / Valley Forge? My sister in law lives there.
