I have finally gotten a good replacement nvidia motherboard for my dead t61p, so thinking about fitting it with Intel X9000.
I know it's overkill but it would be fun I think.
The thing i want to know though, how would it be possible to take advantage of the unlocked multiplier?
Surely even Middleton BIOS won't let you access these parameters.

You can use ThrottleStop software to enable the 13.5X multiplier. Think you can push the 2.8Ghz as far as 3.2Ghz without pin mod.

Overclocked to 4.2Ghz on the X9100 a few years ago.... It was amazing. But the GPU, especially the vRAM size, is just too bottlenecking

Throttlestop? any idea of how much wattage that pulls? would mostly be plugged in....

Pinmod + BIOS mod to enable X9100 and *then* Throttle Stop. May very well be something else in the mix, but I'll let RMS correct me if there is.

Haven't measured but I reckon abt 70W for CPU alone (voltage is 1.5V, and it wasn't really stable. needed 1.45V for stable 4.0Ghz). total power limit for T61 is 90w regardless of model/CPU installed.
