IMPOSSIBLE to find modified Thinkpad T60 BIOS???
I have spent the last few hours with googling and browsing through different forums, in order to find a modified BIOS (with removed whitelist in it) for my 15 inch 4:3 aspect ratio Thinkpad T60. I want to upgrade the wireless card in it to a newer one, which is more efficient/ runs cooler, but all the links I follow lead to dead ends.
Why is this thing so bloody impossible to find anywhere??? This forum doesn't allow to share files, but it mentions, that "The Board Room" used to have those files, but not any more, and go to "MyDigitalLife". I go there, and guess what? They also have a policy not to share files any more. Wonderful. So how come, we have all these forums, but have absolutely no way to download the actual file that is needed?
I have watched a video about the BIOS change, it seems fairly straight forward, but I have absolutely no clue how I should locate those files. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
P.s. If I have misunderstood something, and I am missing something self evident, then please point that out, as it could be, that I am just not computer savvy enough for these things.

I've got one for the T60p but I suppose that will be different to yours? BIOS 79uj34us
A quick Google brought up this page which has a tested T60 modded BIOS with working download link.

Um...probably I will sound like a moron, but how do I check the BIOS? Do I just press F1 during boot-up, to log into the BIOS, and I will find this number there?Shredder11 wrote:I've got one for the T60p but I suppose that will be different to yours? BIOS 79uj34us

Yes I think it does show the current BIOS number during bootup and once inside the BIOS on the main screen near the bottom half, but you can also use Belarc Advisor to give system info.

The link on the site I mention said they found it on a German site, but I do not know if BIOS are multi language or what. Best to ask other people on this forum about that.

Re: IMPOSSIBLE to find modified Thinkpad T60 BIOS???
Thank you. I will check it out to see what that is about. Also my t60 is in pieces right now, so I will need to put it back together first, then I will find out the BIOS version of it.Shredder11 wrote:The link on the site I mention said they found it on a German site, but I do not know if BIOS are multi language or what. Re: IMPOSSIBLE to find modified Thinkpad T60 BIOS???
Yes usually just hit the blue ThinkVantage button and then F1 I think. Oh and the BIOS download does seem to match the one I already have on my drive, which was most likely obtained from MyDigitalLife. I got all of my Thinkpad BIOSes from there.zoltan87 wrote:Um...probably I will sound like a moron, but how do I check the BIOS?
