Is the drive in the T60P a 2.5 inch 7mm?

I have never had a T60 but i would have thought they take a 2.5" 9.5 mm drive also.

Yes, it's 9.5mm. But they can take a 7mm.

Does it take the 7mm without modification or adapter?

Use the regular caddy and rails for 9.5mm, and you'll be fine.

I should clarify that both 9.5mm and 7mm drives work fine in the default caddy.

Also can order rubber rails from ebay that can cradle the 7mm drives to 9.5mm bay. I got this pair this way for 7mm drives for my thinkpads.

Cheers, thinkpadcollection

OK, my wife just ordered this 7mm drive for her T61p:

WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD 1TB (2.5" 7mm)

Is there an 9.5mm to 7mm hard drive adapter I should order to make it fit better/best?

Use the rails for now and order pair of 9.5mm to 7mm rubber rails from ebay.

Use any rubber rails (7 or 9.5 mm) and use a piece of cardboard or foam rubber to stop the drive's "end" from flapping.
