Cranked up my T61 after many months away from the forum
I have a bunch of these T61's. This one has the nvidia graphics 2.5ghz processor, 8GB of ram and 1680x1050 screen. Win 7 64bit. I really do like the T61.
Anyway a quick question regarding wireless AC. This T61 has an Intel AC-3160 wifi card. That is a half speed card. I am replacing my routers with a Netgear R6400-100NAS AC1750. Has the gigabit ports like the previous routers. The previous wireless AC router was only a 1250 AC router. This Netgear router is AC 1750.
I need a few more wireless AC cards for my thinkpad collection. I think I still have an AC-3160 in my inventory in the garage. I am thinking Intel wireless AC 7260 full speed cards. The Netgear has the 3 antenna array and I think it supports full speed cards.
Is there any other wifi AC cards that I should consider? Will the intel AC-3160 cards do the job or is there a benefit to a full speed wifi card. I definitely can see the difference between wireless N and wireless AC speeds.

Then you're going to notice the difference between half-speed and full-speed AC, no questions asked.Hans Gruber wrote: I definitely can see the difference between wireless N and wireless AC speeds.

You're asking the wrong guy since I'll wait a bit more prior to jumping into the AC pool myself, but if you like what you have now a 7260 will be an improvement over it.Hans Gruber wrote: George,
