[SOLVED] IDTech IAUX14P/N screen on Frankenpad

Hello Frankenpadders,
Has anyone tried to install IDTech screen IAUX14P/N on a Frankenpad? Reading its datasheet it seems to have the same pins layout as the HV150UX1-101 except that pins 4,6,7 are used for the EEDID function. Do you think it is safe to try it, I'm able to get a very cheap one and if it works I can install an led driver on it. The screen is a nice IPS 1600x1200 UXGA one.
Thx

You'll need to find an EDID-chip and solder it onto the LCD somewhere, then you need to program the EDID accordingly.
Check the forum for more info, something like that has been done before.

Maybe I have confused you (or I'm confused), from the datasheet of IAUX14P it says that the module uses Serial EEPROM BR24C02FV for EDID. So it should work out of the box, right?

When I hear IDtech, I think 10 or more years ago, when they did not have EDID...
But if it has the EDID, then it should work.

It arrived today, I have installed on my Frankenpad. It is impressive, wonderful colors. Here are my observations
1) The screen is a bit thicker but it fits
2) LVDS connector on the screen is more distant from the thinklight, but a simple bend of the lvds cable does the job.
3) The screen is a bit heavier (I really don't care)
It is really better than any IPS screen I have installed on my x220, no bleeding, no ghosting, etc... Extremely happy with it.

Where did you source this screen again?

On panelook, using the advanced search for a 15 inch 4:3 IPS screen 30 pins LVDS on panelook. It turns out that this screen was on the list and from the datasheet it has a edid chip. I was able to find one on ebay (Italy) for 20 euros. I got it, install it and I'm extremely satisfied with the result.
