UXGA screen artifacts

#1 Post by oeuvre » Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:27 pm

Hey,

This is a T60p with Chi Mei N150U3 1600x1200 UXGA display. It has these spots on it

https://i.imgur.com/3yxLutV.jpg

I tried wiping the screen surface down with a bit of water, nothing. Some isopropyl alcohol, no dice. If I gently press against the affected areas they do not go away. Just wondering if there's a way to fix this on an otherwise really nice display (and candidate for a Frankenpad). Thanks

No.

I can't tell whether these are batches of dead pixels or dust specs stuck between the LCD layers, but neither of these problems is a repairable one.

Argh, lame. I was hoping to build this and then sell it for a profit. The rest of the machine is quite nice, T9300 4GB RAM 128GB SSD NVIDIA NVS140M Intel 5100 AGN WiFI, Sierra Wireless modem card, clean inside and out, idles at 30-35C

If you really want a good display, check out the listings on Taobao. Those are pretty affordable for what they are.
