Where do I get new rubber thermal pads?

#1 Post by Glaurung-quena » Fri Apr 06, 2018 6:43 pm

Refurbishing a T60 and have run into a problem. Always before, when removing the heat sink, the rubber pads were in good shape and there was no need to replace them. Today, I tackled two decrepit t60's obtained on Ebay and on BOTH of them the rubber pads over the ATI chips were torn.

I assume that I cannot use regular thermal grease on the ATI chip the way I can on the CPU.

Thermal pads can be easily obtained online and cut down. Just search for thermal pads on the internet and buy one at your place.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.
