How long does flashing Middleton's BIOS supposed to take?

#1 Post by TPFanatic » Wed Apr 25, 2018 6:42 pm

So if I'm staring at this screen for over 5 minutes https://i.imgur.com/stJAH71.jpg what do I do? Flashing from an SD card in a USB adapter.

There is no activity from the HDD light.

Restarted the computer and it's fine.

I'll do it from a CD next time.

Glad it all worked out. Sometime it's best to follow the instructions and take the road well traveled.

if using CD, double check the burn as a bad disc burn can destroy the motherboard. I keep a hdd with 32bit windows handy to test and flash bios and have done over 500

Yeah I have an 80GB HDD with Windows XP 32-bit almost expressly for this purpose.

From start of the Winphlash command to the very end it is always, always less than five minutes, sometimes less than three.

For what reason can Middleton's BIOS not be flashed from 64 bit Windows? I have a 64 bit version of Winphlash that I've used to flash modded BIOSes on many T500.

The only answer I can give you on this is that Lenovo Never released a t61 b i o s with 64-bit winflash therefore there was no b i o s to modify. If you want to flash your laptop you will probably need to use the bootable CD ROM disk that also comes with Middleton bios. Maybe you can experiment and figure away I know others have just be careful there is no easy way to recover from a failed Flash.
