Frankenpad value?

#1 Post by brucehe » Sat May 19, 2018 7:23 pm

Hello all,

I have a 15” T60P I finally turned into a Frankenpad with a Quadra NVS140 new old stock mother board I purchased from TuuS on the Forum.
It has a FlexView high density 1600 X 1200 beautiful display I purchased years ago and installed. The machine has always been used in a docking station so the keyboard is like new, plastics and display are in very good condition.
I also installed a T9300 CPU and T500 fan.
I was running it with a SSD, but would like to sell without a hard drive.
It has 3GB RAM and Intel 5300 Wi-Fi card.
Battery is a 9 cell in good condition at about 75% of capacity, 63 Wh
No camera or fingerprint swipe
I have no idea what it’s value is, let me know what you think,
I am glad to take a few photos if you are interested.

Thanks,

Bruce

Well... depends.

these systems are really hard to calculate; there is a frankie on the marketplace that stands around $150 and did not sell yet - I'd personally ask ~$250 for system like yours, BUT:
1. it is important whether it has BOE-Hydis or ID-Tech LCD (the latter is not led-moddable)
2. T500 fan unit on dedicated ship?!?! I guess only the fan, and not the whole cooling system?
Too many thinkpads not enough time!
(stable under reduction)

A Frankenpad is like a restored car, the owner always think it's worth more than it is. I've seen people ask anywhere from $300 to $1000 US. The market will ultimately determine the price.

In Finland if someone wants an old T60\T61(2008) they sell in internet auctions for 50\70usd$ even if brand new. There were and are zillions of Lenovos in company use.
- Usually people give them free(\or for a very small fee) like kittens .
Greed is a bad thing.
I got also a "almost new docking station used" 1 pc of T61 for free.

It is a BOE HYDIS HV150UX1-100 LCD.

I thought I replaced the entire HS but it might have just been the fan, It fit well whatever I did and the temperatures are good, running 70- 72C GPU CPU while running full screen video with a bit of fan on, idles below 60C with no fan running.

Thanks for the input.

Well, I guess we have some more info regarding it's value. I posted it for $250 and had 4 offers in 8 hours so it seems there is still demand for these units at least at the price I posted.
