Thinkpad T60p and DVI 1440p issue

I have a T60p with the Firegl 5200 and UXGA LCD connected to an advanced dock. I have an HP Zr2740w 1440p monitor connected via DVI. The monitor has DVI & DisplayPort.

I have the HP monitor connected to the Advanced Dock with a dual-link DVI Cable. The monitor supports 2 resolutions, 1440p & 720p. 720p displays just fine, by itself or with the onboard LVDS.

When I set the output to 1440p, I get artifacts across both displays. If I turn off the onboard LVDS output the HP Monitor works fine at 1440p.

Nit really sure what the issue is. The Firegl 5200 has 256MB VRAM so it should be able to display to both properly.

I am running Linux and using xrandr to set the screens up.

Any ideas?

It's possible that some portion of the Video RAM is bad...

I've tried 2 different systems and have 3 more motherboards to check. Will post my results when done.

Found out that the v5200 supports a max resolution of 3840 x 2400 , so I would have to have like a 1280x800 onboard max to use the HP at 1440p.

Actually I checked and I can do 1280x960 on the onboard LCD & 1440p on the HP. Anything higher and it won't work.
