What Is Wrong With My ThinkPad T60

Hello, today I received a new T60, when I close the lid it doesn't sleep, and it isn't a windows problem, what could it be?

Is it configured to sleep on lid close in the power options?

Does anything happen when you almost close the lid (like the screen turning off)? If not, then it's possible that the magnetic sensor which detects the mechanical action is faulty.

Two things you can check: 1) Check Windows power mode that it's set to sleep when the lid is closed. 2) All laptops that I know of have a sensor in the lid that detects when the lid is closed. When the lid is closed, it will at least turn the screen light off or put the laptop to sleep. This sensor sometimes fail.

Where is this sensor in a ThinkPad T60?

Find the strong attraction with piece of steel on the lid or keyboard bezel, that is your clue where sensor would meet when lid is closed.
