Hello, I am looking to get a new battery for my T60, since Lenovo doesn’t make batteries for the T60 anymore, what’s the next best opting?

but expect a lot of bad batteries, maybe one in 3 will be decent enough, most batteries will be SANYO, not great, no terrible

These last for a ridiculous amount of time IME.

Try to get FRU 42T4620 / ASM 92P1134, this is the specific PN for a Panasonic 9 cell for T60.


An ebay seller who I've bought used ThinkPad batteries from before only has 6 cells right now unfortunately. Only problem blind buying from him is you play the Battery lottery, you may get a [censored] Sanyo or Sony. If it's alright to plug him he is g-electronic.

they are extremely rare, and even more rare in a good condition
My best panasonic is a 6 cells from 2006 which still holds 51 out of 56 Wh, currently in my middletoned T61 that I use right now to type this comment.

here is the FRU run down of my T60 and T61 batteries in my possession, NOTE I had 2 more but I gave them away, so they are not included in this list

NOTE, these 2 batteries have the same sticker, with the same FRU and ASM even though one is 6 cells and the other is 9 cells, I strongly believe these stickers are fake, put on by the counterfeiter to mask the sanyo origin, about a third of the eBay batteries have it.
BOTH are new SANYOs , from 2019, and both inside Power Manager instead of FRU number it says COMPATIBLE

After perusing many thinkpad battery threads on various forums, I learned a few things:

-All batteries labeled "genuine lenovo" on ebay/Amazon are FAKE- legit lenovo batteries are only available from lenovo, thats why the ebay/amazon knockoffs are so cheap

-these imitation batteries use low grade chinese cells that generally crap out within a year or less, and have sub-design capacity

-I learned about a "legit" chinese battery assembler named KINGSENER that uses strictly grade A Japanese and korean cells (sanyo/LG)

They cost more than the ebay/amazon knockoffs, but offer equal or greater than legit lenovo perforamance.

I bought a Kingsener 72wh battery for my T450s from ali express, and have been more than pleasantly surprised. As good as/better than Lenovo, but less than half the price ($44; price may be different for your model)

After cyclig it a few times, I ran a windows battery report- its design capacity is 72wh, but its real capacity is 75wh. 16 hour battery life with internet browsing and word processing mixed with video here and there is normal now.

Never again going with crappy ebay batteries. Kingsener sells direct on Aliexpress. No I don't work for them, I took a risk ordering based on a random guy's post, but it paid off.
