To place an order they require the ACTUAL PART NUMBER OFF THE BATTERY YOU WANT TO ORDER and since I didn't have the old battery with me, I took the part number of "OEM Lenovo 9-cell Battery 42T4619 92P1132" off of the advertisement for the used oem Lenovo battery linked by the theterminator93 below.

I will update this review as soon as I receive the battery from encompass.

Honestly, the best battery you can get for these is a used Panasonic. All the new cells will wear out quickly - even more so for the new aftermarket cells.

The batteries we have been using are the extended variety. I don't have a picture to upload. Do you have a link to that battery?

Our machine types are 6458 and 6457

And my Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) says these are the appropriate batteries:

Battery pack, Li-ion (9 cell)
Sanyo 42T4511
Panasonic 92P1133

Battery pack, Li-ion (6 cell)
Sanyo 42T4504
Panasonic 92P1139
Sony 92P1141

No doubt these cross-reference somewhat to later battery numbers

This is the only one I found - it doesn't give enough information to determine cell manufacturer.

"wow" is right! I hope it lives up to my hopes.

The X61 and the T61p Thinkpads we own are not used for fun. They are used in my business to earn a profit. I use them because of their size. The X61 is small and is my daily driver. The T61p 15.4" widescreens are huge and allow me to show two different word processing documents side by side for intensive document preparation purposes when needed.

We have docking stations in strategic places around the place.

The X61 and the T61p Thinkpads we use are are all maxed out a 8Gb RAM with large SSD's.

The wifi cards are upgraded to Intel Dual Band AC-7260 and the Bluetooth daughter cards are upgraded to 4.0 (designed for the Lenovo T420).

Their keyboards are, in my personal opinion, simply the best in the history of the industry.

Except for possibly the full size IBM Selectric typewriter keyboard which was carried over to early IBM desktop PCs.
