The manual is no help being they have all board sizes with 1 FRU, and most of the FRU online does not match any numbers listed in the repair manual (and online they dont list the size either)
Soooo does anyone have a list of 15" boards FRU? (im looking for the Intel graphics boards)

Boards are interchangeable between 14" and 15" models.
How did you determine that your motherboard was dead ?

It would need a different CPU, fan and PCMCIA unit, but you can now go up to 8GB RAM and with Middleton's BIOS get up to SATA II speed and a few other goodies.
Read up on Frankenpads on this forum.

Woah the boards are the same size? Really? No differences at all?
Na, sadly no frankenpad for me. Im going the libreboot & linux route over Middleton... being linux dont like nvidia, and libreboot dont like Ati either so im stuck with intel graphics.
For the "no beep" diagnosis to work you have to remove the RAM.
If you can really "see" the planars on eBay, just follow the HMM and remove yours then compare it to the photos. The ATI chip is clearly visible so you can avoid that and the 15.4" planar has a different shape since it does not utilize an interposer card, which would be visible if attached to a planar pulled from a 15.0" T60.
Also you have to check with the seller that they are photos of the actual item.
