What does it take to swap an LCD? T500 in T61?

I've got an extra LCD from a T500. It's an LG (LP154WX7 (TL)(A2)). That's an LED screen. I've also got the board that goes with it (that's an inverter and some sort of controller, right? or is it different for an LED screen?). I need an LCD for a 15.4" T61. I'm totally ignorant of what it takes to swap screens from one machine to another. How do I know if it might work?

You cannot transfer that T500 LED-screen into a T61.

The LCD-connector on T500/T61 cables is identical for both, whether LED or CCFL.
But the motherboard connector on those cables is different between T500 and T61.
You can swap a CCFL-screen with inverter between T500 and T61 or v.v., but NOT the LED-screen with LED-board.
T500 LED-screen is only WXGA, higher resolutions are CCFL.
Your best WUXGA (1920x1200) for 16:10 T500/T61 would be the (CCFL) Sharp LQ154M1LW2A or LQ154M1LW02, as used in many D800 Series Dells.
They need a few mounting eyelets cut off (you can leave up to about 2-3mm), but are otherwise a drop-in replacement.
