T61 Double Stacked Image

Hi all
I am facing a problem which I don't know how to troubleshoot and fix; hence, seeking advice here
My T61 (TYPE: 7664-A24) 's display shows two stacked images:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cbpu9 ... ezSqoLm03n
However, on the external monitor, it is normal:

Given that the output is fine on the external monitor, I surmise that the GPU is fine. Hence, the issue lies with either the ribbon or the display
The current original display is a Chi Mei Optoelectronics N141C3-L05
I disassembled the display, and viewed the backside. everything seems normal, no loose connection nor broken parts.
I proceeded to disconnect the ribbon from the display, and re-inserted it back properly. switched on the laptop, but the double stacked images continue to occur.
(1) what are the internal issue(s)?
(2) how do I resolve / fix it?
any advice is much appreciated. thank you in advance.
Gilbert
