Hi guys, I am going to resurrect an old topic that has been discussed a lot.
I did searched a lot to find my answers, but unfortunately still can not resolve the problem. So here is my situation:
Finally managed to find this rare screen (Sharp 14" 1600x1200 UXGA LQ141U1LH02) to mount on my 14" t601. Acording to the articles and forum threads the only modification needed is to detach the second pin (http://www.ibmfiles.com/pages/t60.htm). So I did it, but unfortunately it still fries the test boards video output or inverters when I connect it.
I can see that the screen has the pucture (without backlight) when the inverter is dead, and I see that its backlight is also working when connected to other power source.
I have removed the pin on the ribbon cable as it is shown on the picture from the link above.
What can be the reason, do I miss something?

To check if you did it properly, connect pins 2 and 3 on the connector itself with a multimeter, set for continuity.
If it still beeps, pin 2 is not yet cut off.
No other ideas (unless you bought a fake knock-off "compatible" screen).

Still NOT a great day for a Guinness! (the Real Black Stuff). And I have TWO (closed) pubs within 500 meters/yards!
