Hello all,

Just to double check, will this panel work with a 4:3 15" T60 motherboard in a 14.1" 4:3 T61 shell?

Am I able to use the OEM Inverter + Cable that the 14.1" 4:3 T61 came with?

So! I did install the panel and I spent about 5 hours trying to get it to work. This is on a T60P, with ATI graphics (T61 shell and LCD cable though). It was the weirdest thing. I could not go into the BIOS Setup Utility after POST or device boot selection. It would always do two beeps at me (since I reset CMOS by leaving the battery out) which I assumed was set up date and time settings, but I couldn't tell as the screen was blank, although sometimes it was blank with horizontal white lines on the bottom quarter of the screen. The initialization error message which would go away after I hit ESC and it booted to my USB drive, but it was weird as it would boot USB after a few minutes. And this is where it gets weirder, I have tried Lubuntu which wouldn't even install, it would hang or go blank as soon as I began installing, and the same goes for antiX and windows 10 x86. It wasn't till I hooked up an external monitor I could see everything. This way I flashed the latest BIOS (2.27). I started messing around with the Display settings in the BIOS, which to I was finally able to fix all my issues by turning off HV expansion under the display settings. Now I can boot to the setup utility or boot selection. The BIOS looks weird with it off as it isn't full screen but it works now. This is going to be annoying though if the CMOS battery ever dies and I have to replace it and hook the laptop to an external monitor to turn off that setting.

So its not as plug and play as that post described it to be. But at least it is documented now.

Leaving the battery out does NOT reset CMOS.
On average those CMOS batteries live about 7 years, so yours might well be dead by now
If you ever need to replace it (again), just leave the machine ON while you do that.

BTW, there are no 4:3 15" T60/p motherboards, only 4:3 14.1" T60/p mobos, which get an extender (officially interposer) card to fit in a 4:3 15" chassis.
