Hello I have had a 14.1 T61 in a T60 Chassis for the last 4 years with no issues. The motherboard originally a NOS board 44c3924 dated from 2012. I recently decided to install the board into a 15 in Chassis so I could install a Flexview UXGA panel. I picked it up as a "new" panel from a seller on Ebay. Part number HV150UX1-100. So far I have had no display from the UXGA panel but there is display from my external monitor as I am Typing on the T61 . I need some help figuring out why I have no display. The 15 T60 had an XGA panel That I removed. I was told This Hydis screen is supposed to be a drop in unless I need to flash the EDID for it. All your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is there a Lenovo FRU number on the back of the panel ? If not, flashing the EDID is a must.

The screen itself could also be at fault, but unless you have an older ThinkPad to test with - almost anything prior to T6x series will do - it's just a guessing game.

Good luck.

Check fuse F7 (green, with a P on it) to the right of the LCD-connector on the mobo.
It's 3A/32V/Fast with a P/N of 0466003.NR.
You can piggyback-solder a new one on top of it.

I do have an an R52 with a UXGA screen on it. It has the Pentium M and 2 GB of DDR2. I'm afraid of hooking it up and frying that board also. Though come to think of it I do have a T60 board which are a dime a dozen now. I could test it on that board. It's possible it could be a bad display.

Thank you ! I will have to polish up on my soldering skills. I didn't want to retire this board just yet 😂 I will keep you guys updated on it.

There was not a Lenovo FRU on the screen now that you mention it. I think I will put my spare T60 board as the test mule and try and flash the EDID on it. But I might just have to try it on the R52

Does the backlight work?
If you shine a torch at the screen, and look at it from different angles, can you see any text?

When I looked at it earlier I was able to see the backlight but there wasn't anything displaying on the screen. I'm pretty sure I need to flash the screen. I'll check the screen on the R52 in the morning and get back to you guys.

Test it with the original T61 screen, that way you can isolate the problem. If it works it's either the cable connection, panel drivers or EDID (unlikely -- the HV150UX1-100 all have the EDID, if the last digit was a 1 it may not). Don't assemble the screen, but insulate it either using an anti-static mat or something non-conductive and be sure to remove the battery and AC adapter. That way you can be sure you aren't breaking the connection when assembling it. If you aren't careful you will indeed be dealing with the fuse. You can read the EDID before resorting to flashing it -- search the forum for posts on how to this in Windows or linux.

I will have to test it with another screen as the one that came with the 15 in was shattered when I got it. I'll test it with the smaller 14.1 screen when I get off work and get back to you guys thanks again.

So I had a few minutes to look at it and I took the entire 14.1 screen assembly with the working screen cable and could not get the screen to display anything. On top of that the only indicator light that showed up was the wifi. So it must be a fuse problem. Also it might still be the EDID issue. Which I will test on the R52 later.

Well after weeks of waiting I got the panel to display under linux using a t60 motherboard. It looked as though it was an EDID issue but I dumped the edid and compared it against the EDID listed for the panel as the correct one for the T60 and they look to be identical yet an image is only displayed under linux and not windows. So I know the panel works and I recieved two working replacement T61 boards. Is it still an EDID issue?

So you say it works under Linux, but not under Windows?
Which Windows version are you trying?
I bet it's W10 or even W11...
Either way, dump Windows on that machine and stay with Linux.

I had a drive laying around with windows 11 on it lol. That could work I just want to be able to use it normally without a blank screen till it boots into Linux.
