2RX8 in DDR2 for T61

#1 Post by RandomLad » Fri Nov 05, 2021 5:12 am

Hey everybody

I'm upgrading my T61 with more ram and I found two almost identical DDR2 SDRAM from Crucial. The only difference there is 2RX8 in the description. So basically that's what the one is called:
Crucial 8 GB 2X 4 GB PC2-6400 DDR2 PC6400 800 Mhz SoDimm 200pin Laptop Memory
and that is what the other one:
8GB Crucial Kit 2X 4GB 2RX8 PC2-6400 DDR2-800MHz 200pin SODIMM Laptop Memory @DD

and I'm just curious which is the one that's appropriate (right one) for my T61 (with the pretty standard set-up plus Middleton's Bios

Thank you in advance and a good day to you all.

Pretty sure for 4GB sticks, both are 2Rx8 and both should work fine on T61 after Middleton.
I have some available if you are interested.

I got my old T61 back after loaning it to my mom for 10+ years. The battery still works fine!

Man, I had forgotten how nice the keyboard was. The T420 keyboard -usually taken as a reference- isn't that good in comparison.

How much are you asking? I don't really need it... but I have the feeling that it'll end up in the landfill if I don't give it a second life.

It's a custom T8300 + IGP + SXGA+ (14.1"). It currently has 1GB of RAM and a spinning drive.

So it would be C$55 + postage for the pair. Again it is a pair of Micron sticks and SPD are unlocked (I've used them on half a dozen different machines to run 1066Mhz FSB by now). I'd only have one pair for sale now - I need the rest of them in my own systems
