NTLDR is missing after recovering from XPSP2 Lenovo recovery

#1 Post by bobsmith » Mon Feb 14, 2022 2:17 pm

Downloaded a recovery ISO from archive.org, burned it to a USB, booted on my T61, and recovered without saving any files. Restarts into XP and works and installs some drivers and programs, then restarts again and suddenly "NTLDR is missing", tried changing hard drive compatibility mode and still nothing works yet NTLDR is present in the root of the Windows drive, any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. :) Sorry to hear about your trouble.

Try booting an XP boot CD/USB into the recovery environment, then run FIXBOOT and FIXMBR.
