T60 won't successfully flash the Zendar BIOS

Hi Folks,
I have just been given an old T60 which was a nice surprise. I have put Bunsen labs on there and it is quite usable. I have 3gb ram, a 120gb ssd, a T7400. The screen is unfortunately the 1024 x 768 but beggars can't be choosers. The model is a 1952-43g,
I have found a boot image for Zendars bios and burned it to a disk and then have booted from it. It seems to work - the bios flash occurs then it says that it is successful, requests that it reboots with a keypress and then a blank screen occurs. I have left it a few minutes to no avail. On a hard reboot I get a cmos checksum error and it reverts to the last version and goes into the bios.
I hope that someone has more of a clue about how to proceed than I do!
Many Thanks in anticipation!
