T61 Middleton BIOS problem

I've had this T61 for a couple of years and hardly used it. I've just ordered a T9300 so need to install Middleton BIOS.

I booted from the iso and got Flash over LAN is disabled for this client.
I tried to change the settings in the BIOS but it skips straight past the first two entries so I can't change them.

Any suggestions or am I stuck with finding an old hard drive and sticking a 32bit OS on it?

Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks.

I found that this is the easiest for me. XP setup flies in an SSD and I don't have to worry about cds and all of that.

Go into BIOS/Config/Network to ENable Flash over LAN.

As I said my first post, I can't.

I go into BIOS/Config/Network and it skips past the first two entries, I can't select them.

Update:
I think it's done. I loaded BIOS defaults which allowed me to access the BIOS over LAN option.

I'll find out when the T9300 arrives...

I assume somebody changed a setting in the BIOS which disabled the first two entries on the 'network' page.

Although the problem now seems to be resolved, it would be good to know what actually caused it.

Unless you can ask the person who did this, you'll never know.

Can't have been anything serious, because it worked after setting the BIOS to default (using F9).

It's not important, just curiosity.

I've fitted the T9300 and it's working perfectly happily so the BIOS update must have worked.

Now to get back to the T60 from over a year ago which will run Linux but not Windows...

The later T61 thinkpads can run a T9300 CPU without a modified BIOS. Check your MTM code on the barcoded sticker on the underside of the machine then use it to look up the specifications using the "MTM" link at the top of this web page. Research what the Middleton BIOS does then test any features you are capable of to determine if you've successfully flashed it. Of course if your BIOS or EC firmware version is different from that of the Middleton BIOS then you haven't flashed it.

Mine is an early one, December '07 and only had a Core Duo, not a Core 2 Duo.

As the T9300 is working happily, the update must have worked.

While Dec'07 is fairly early for a T61 - it could not have had a "Core Duo", since these ended with the early T60 machines.

Sorry - Centrino Duo, as this T60 also originally had.
