Anyone knows what does this mean?
Anyone knows what does this mean?
In tabook, you can find T60. In port part, it says:
"no keyboard, mouse, serial ports, parallel port, 1394, or S-video (use USB)".
What does "use USB" mean? There will be a USB to S-video adapter?

Re: Anyone knows what does this mean?
What it means is that you will have to use some form of USB device to generate a S-video signal. For instance a 3rd party USB-TV-card with S-video output, if such a card exists.danda821 wrote:In tabook, you can find T60. In port part, it says:

Probably this also means that the VGA port of the T60 doesnt have support for S-video.

i dont know actually. Once upon a time when i had an Omnibook 900 gen I i had a DVD PCMCIA card with svideo out. To use it you had to play the DVD in a special application that was bundled with the card.danda821 wrote:So with such kind of card, the video on the screen can be transfered to S-video through usb?

Well on my T42, the S-Video out shows my desktop just fine on a TV. I imagine it would be the same if you used a USB to S-Video adapter.danda821 wrote:So with such kind of card, the video on the screen can be transfered to S-video through usb?
EDIT: Here is one such cable: USB Video Adapter
EDIT my EDIT: Looking over more carefully, the above cable is for video input not output.
3rd EDIT: Looking around some, I do not see any simple adapter cables, either from USB to TV or VGA to TV. There are some VGA to TV converter boxes, but who wants to haul around a box? Maybe there's something out there, but I am not finding it easily.
