T60 Availability

Any one have any idea on the availability of the T60s? It's been a week since they announced at CES, but there is only one configuration listed on Lenovo's website, not a desirable one either. My T23 is dying. I need to order the T60 soon!!!

I have read they will start delivering them in the beginning of feb, but don't expect good availability a few months later.

Why announce if you can't deliver!!! ARGH!

They never said they were not going to deliver in their press release!!

Every other company I know releases the day they announce. I mean at least more then one configuration. If not, just announce and provide a later ship date.

You must know different vendors than I do. This is unfortunately common. And they have good reason to. It paralyzes you from buying a competing product since you wait forever in anticipation! Sad but true.

Let me rephase. Other vendors will announce, but don't say it's available. They state that they will be available X date.

Lenovo announces and states that it's available now. Technically it is, in one configuration, one that no one wants.

What would have been nice is if they announced and gave a date when they will really be ready. Release a ton of configuration at one time.

Patience. I understand a thing or two concerning this. After waiting long enough I ordered the T42 to learn that I was misled. I purchased a T42 on 1/3/2006 and had it shipped back without opening the packgage. I asked the sales rep if he new when the duo core technology will be available and he pleaded the fifth. A week later I re-visit the site and much to my mixed emotion the T60 was being featured.

I am waiting for the UXGA 1600x1200 spec so I can close the deal on a T60. I will not wait any longer once this becomes available.

I fear that my waiting is going to be much longer than I could ever imagine.

UXGA... isn't the font going to be tiny on that???

I just want the 1400x1050 resolution. Give me that and the dual core and I'll be a happy camper.

I've grown accustomed to that resolution. I own a Dell Inspiron 9100 since 2002 and can't go back to anything else.

Wow that's definitely detailed...thanks for the link.

Apparently the Lenovo Canada site has the machine ready for order, but the link is invalid for now (until Feb 14th I'm guessing).
