STUPID construction of the T60p

#1 Post by mzd » Tue Jan 31, 2006 4:59 pm

I just look at the new tabook.pdf and found that the battery life in T60p
is greatly reduced, e.g., for 9 cell battery, T60p only has 5.4 hour, while T60 can have 9 hour. So is it a mistake in the tabook?
I like thinkpad since 2001.

The T60p generally uses more power than the T60 because the T60p uses a 15" FlexView display. This consumes considerably more power than a standard LCD.

Just curious; why does this thread have the same title as the one about the T60 construction?

Battery life is battery life, not the material construction of the system.

Yup, a 15" screen uses more power; on just about any system you will see a battery drop.

She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

I'm sure the 256mb graphics card sucks up some power also

IMO opinion, I am sure it is more then some!!!!

The way I look at it, 5+ hours out of a laptop running the hardware that it has is trully amazing!!!

Ten years ago, you would have been called crazy 1st-For even saying that a laptop with these specs was even possible 2nd-that it would have this kind of life on battery power!!!

I can only imagine what will be around by the time that the warranty expires on these TP's!!
